We are seeking ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Blasters to become part of our team!
 
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Set up, operate and maintain blasting equipment.
  • Connect all air and electrical systems associated with blasting equipment. 
  • Perform abrasive blasting on various vessel surfaces such as hulls, decks, tanks to achieve specific cleanliness and profile standards in preparation for painting and coating.  
  • Inspect blasted surfaces to ensure they meet the required standards for cleanliness and profile (SSPC/NACE standards). 
  • Set up and maintain blast enclosures and ventilation systems to ensure a safe and environmentally compliant work environment. 
  • Communicate effectively with painters, supervisors and other team members regarding surface preparation requirements and progress.  
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor maintenance as needed.  
Requirements for this role include:
  • Proven experience as a paint blaster in marine or industrial setting. 
  • Must possess a valid and current C-7 or C-13 Blaster’s certification. 
  • Thorough knowledge of abrasive blasting techniques, equipment and safety procedures specific to marine applications.  
  • Familiarity with surface preparation standards such as SSPC and NACE. 
  • Ability to interpret and follow work specifications and drawings.  
  • Ability to work in confined spaces. 
  • Able to gain access to various shipyards and military installations.
