We are seeking Blasters to become part of our team!
Your responsibilities will include:
- Set up, operate and maintain blasting equipment.
- Connect all air and electrical systems associated with blasting equipment.
- Perform abrasive blasting on various vessel surfaces such as hulls, decks, tanks to achieve specific cleanliness and profile standards in preparation for painting and coating.
- Inspect blasted surfaces to ensure they meet the required standards for cleanliness and profile (SSPC/NACE standards).
- Set up and maintain blast enclosures and ventilation systems to ensure a safe and environmentally compliant work environment.
- Communicate effectively with painters, supervisors and other team members regarding surface preparation requirements and progress.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor maintenance as needed.
Requirements for this role include:
- Proven experience as a paint blaster in marine or industrial setting.
- Must possess a valid and current C-7 or C-13 Blaster’s certification.
- Thorough knowledge of abrasive blasting techniques, equipment and safety procedures specific to marine applications.
- Familiarity with surface preparation standards such as SSPC and NACE.
- Ability to interpret and follow work specifications and drawings.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Able to gain access to various shipyards and military installations.
