1st Shift – 6:00am – 2:30pm
Lead Marine has immediate openings for a IT Systems Administrator the San Diego Naval Shipyard Industry. The Systems Administrator must have a deep and broad knowledge of servers, computer software, hardware, and network/cloud infrastructure. This role will be responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting our company’s servers and computer systems. The Systems Administrator will design and maintain local area networks, wide area networks, and network/cloud segments with emphasis on NIST recommended cybersecurity best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet
- Ensure the design of the systems to allow all components to work properly together with best cybersecurity standards.
- Support and maintain network and system security via 2FA, group policy, access controls using best cybersecurity practices.
- Monitor networks to ensure best cyber security standards.
- Evaluate and modify network and IT infrastructure performance.
- Create and evaluate AD user accounts with emphasis on NIST recommended cybersecurity best practices.
- Maintain the integrity of the network, server, and system deployments per best cyber security practice with emphasis on NIST recommended NIST cybersecurity best practices..
- Ensure network connectivity throughout the company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure and is on par with technical and best practice cyber security considerations with emphasis on NIST recommended cybersecurity best practices..
- Design and deploy networks; Maintain all servers, and Firewall, VPN applicances under best cybersecurity standards with emphasis on NIST recommended cybersecurity best practices.
- Assists and responds to customer inquiries (email, phone, remote, in-person, onsite) and assists in troubleshooting and resolving challenges with a friendly presence and helpful demeanor.
- Works alongside Tier 1 & 2 techs and advise on or troubleshoot escalated issues.
- Works alongside the IT Manager and IT Staff, makes recommendations for future tech upgrades.
- Contribute to and maintain IT knowledgebase.
- Perform network address assignments and assign routing protocols and routing table configurations.
- Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.
- Administer servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, IP phones, company iPhones, software deployment, security updates and patches with emphasis on NIST recommended cybersecurity best practices.
- Must adhere to promote ALL company cybersecurity policies.
Requirements:
- Solid experience with Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, DHCP, Security, MS Hyper-V, Server, and Microsoft 365 Products/M365 Exchange/Azure-Entra administration.
- Knowledge of NIST 800-171/CMMC 2.0 a plus
- Solid experience with Veeam, configuration, management and backups.
- Experience with configuration, management of firewall and switching technologies.
- Experience in WAN/LAN, WLAN, VPN, Anti-Virus/malware endpoint applications or similar.
- Experience with email-filtering a plus
- Administration/configuration of firewall technology and switching.
- Experience with iSCSI SAN-NAS, Windows PowerShell experience a plus
- Experience in Cybersecurity or Infosec best practices-emphasis preferred.
- Experience, management and configuration with iSCSI SANS
- Windows PowerShell experience a plus
- Preferred bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, Technology degree, or minimum 5-8 years relevant experience in IT administration or backend role.
- Solid understanding of Windows Server, network technologies, Azure/Entra and computers. (MS Certification preferred) with emphasis on NIST recommended cybersecurity best practices a plus.
- Real-world experience with MS365/Azure-Entra/Intune administration
- Real-world experience with MS Server – AD, DNS, DHCP administration
- Must be able to speak and understand English.
