We are seeking Paint Estimator to become part of our team!

Your responsibilities will include:

Responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates that can be used to bid on marine and shipyard projects for the US Navy, Coast Guard and other government or non government organizations and companies.
May prepare bids for coatings, paint, blast and preservation
Keep up with the industry trends, material costs and construction methods.
Assist in developing project, schedules and timelines.
Prepare weekly analysis of results.
Obtain bids and packages from vendors, subcontractors, prime contractors and government agencies.
Assist with maintaining continuity among operations and field personnel by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
Network and build relationships with vendors, suppliers, sub and prime contractors.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements for this role include:

High School/GED education at a minimum.
At least 5 years of estimating similar services in a shipyard environment.
Must be able and willing to work a flexible schedule to include overtime and weekends.
Strong computer skills especially with Microsoft Office or 365.
Working knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items.
Technical knowledge with submarine and/or surface combat ships recommended.
Must have the ability to communicate effectively with personnel in and outside of the organization.
Must be able to gain access to military installations and various shipyards.
