Position Summary:
LEAD Technical has partnered with a premiere automotive manufacturer west of Indianapolis and is seeking a dynamic 2nd Shift Production Manager to lead and oversee operations during evening shifts at a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing production processes, driving safety and quality initiatives, and fostering a collaborative environment for team members to achieve their best. This role requires a proactive leader with a solid manufacturing background and a passion for operational excellence.
LEAD Technical has partnered with a premiere automotive manufacturer west of Indianapolis and is seeking a dynamic 2nd Shift Production Manager to lead and oversee operations during evening shifts at a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing production processes, driving safety and quality initiatives, and fostering a collaborative environment for team members to achieve their best. This role requires a proactive leader with a solid manufacturing background and a passion for operational excellence.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage production schedules to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Set and communicate priorities for production while ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.
- Analyze production and operational data to address challenges in manufacturing, maintenance, and resource allocation.
- Partner with Assistant Managers and Team Leaders to develop team performance, troubleshoot issues, and achieve production goals.
- Promote a culture of safety and quality by implementing programs, training team members, and ensuring compliance with standards.
- Provide guidance and support to team members in resolving workplace challenges, collaborating with HR and management when necessary.
- Regularly review and refine operational procedures to drive efficiency and ensure adherence by all team members.
- Prepare and distribute daily shift reports, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and progress against targets.
- Lead monthly reviews of shift performance, presenting outcomes and improvement opportunities.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in manufacturing leadership roles.
- Proven ability to manage production teams effectively in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in manufacturing systems and computer applications.
